Our nation needs a miracle. It might take a miracle for people to repent and return to God. This nation was great when we sought the Lord and taught people His ways. The nation has plunged headlong into godlessness over the last few years. We can argue about when it started or we can prayerfully attempt to make things right.
For me, making things right began on my knees. My prayer for repentance is not for myself alone although I have plenty to confess to the Lord. My repentance includes confessing my fellow US citizens’ sins. Isaiah proclaimed, “Woe is me! For I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people off unclean lips.” I must proclaim, “God, I am a self-centered man, only concerned about my own rights and desires. My people are like me, unconcerned about others and especially unconcerned about Your desire, O’ Lord.”
I’ve wrestled with where we are as a nation, especially leading up to this election for the office of President of the United States. Our nation was founded on Biblical values, God-centered ideals. We must return to this if we have any hope of surviving.
With that in mind, I personally cannot vote for either of the major party’s leading candidates (probably soon-to-be nominees). People say, “Vote for the ‘lesser of two evils.'” I’m having a hard time voting for any evil. Because of this, I feel I need to try something else.
I’m asking all of you to prayerfully consider signing a petition urging Franklin Graham to run for President on an independent ticket. I know it is such a long shot that we would have to consider this a miracle if this were to work. I’d rather pick up my five smooth stones and trust God for the miracle than to let the giants carry on blaspheming the Lord.
I would rather be unsuccessful at trying something good than to be successful at doing nothing at all.
