Nobody is owed paradise

Friends, Moses was an amazing man. He was the leader of an entire nation (people group). He led these people during the most difficult times of their lives. He did many things right. Throughout history, we have focused mostly on the right he did. He is a hero to many people. You would be surprised about the differing groups who claim him as a hero.

Still, Moses messed up. Just like you and I, Moses was a sinner. Moses fell short of God’s glory. He was separated and kept away from the Promise Land. This is a reminder that God does not owe anybody anything. Not one of us has a right to be in heaven someday. It isn’t about rights.

Moses’ sin might seem small compared to other’s sins. We must stop comparing our sin to other’s sins. All of our sin is big enough to keep us out of the Promised Land. God offers that as a gift of grace. We receive it by faith. Moses served with great faith. He was rewarded later. Watch for his reward. Be looking for yours too if you serve the Lord faithfully.
