Love does no wrong

There is only one time when we are perfect. The only time we are perfect is when we are truly acting in love. We might fail to understand what love is or how we should treat people we love, but when we are truly acting in love that’s when everything is right.

I can hear people out there saying, “There are people who claim they are acting in love, but their actions still hurt.” We just don’t have the space in this newsletter to cover all of that. Just check this verse out from yesterday’s reading (June 30th, 2023).

“Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law” (Romans 13:10).

When we truly love somebody with our actions, we are doing things which are for their good, not for their bad. When we speak out of love, we speak what will build people up or correct them to help them get on the right path. This is for their good. Let us love with our words and our actions.

People won’t always think loving actions are fun to deal with. Imagine a parent correcting a child, teaching a valuable lesson through discipline. That child might not think those corrective actions are fun, but they are still for that child’s good.

Let us encourage one another to be perfect in love.

In Jesus’ love,
Pastor Jerry Jeter
